-Do you recall this man, he managed the McGibbon Hotel for a time, was a great Lacrosse player with my father, he cleared the land of rubble so the Random Car Club could build there and the young fellow beside him was a fixture around the Arena and ball diamonds for several years. It is Mr Ernie Thompson and son Rodger Armstrong :)

-Yes people our Father/ Grandpa did live in Balinafad , n ran his construction company from there , Ernie Thompson Construction LTD.. was a great hockey n lacrosse player in the 50s damn folks that is almost 70 years ago ,and he coached hockey n baseball as well he was a SPONSOR of hockey n baseball teams in his later years , he was taken from us at the age of 74 ,in 2004 , we miss him a lot he was tough but I think pretty fair with us over the years ...
-Ernie coached me in Bantam, and he was tough but fair, if you tried and hustled he would give you more ice time then other “better” players. Loved that about him!
