-Might be a bit late for this because you’ve been profiling Georgetownians for a bit, but could you tell us who they are, what they’ve done or why they were chosen? Thx. 🙂
- I'm putting up pictures for others to post memories or what they've done.. you'll have to read all the comments ;) as for Neil and Wendy .. Neil for Education (teacher and coach at GDHS) and Music, Wendy for her contributions to law enforcement
-Started to do this more as an Education for Georgetowners to learn about the ppl that have been important in the building of this town and who have been in our lives growing up here. Thanks for your feedback :)
-Never had Neil as a teacher but I'm sure lots of you had him in science and as a coach.. My mom use to go to their house for ceramics that wendy taught
- I did ceramics there as well..
-I had him either, those memories are old and fading, but certainly the name Mr. Cotton remains in my memory banks... Thx.
- Very cool!
-Neil and I played hockey together for The Intermediate Raiders around 72-74. He is a true gentleman, fine teacher and a defence partner anyone would want when the fights break out. Students would not mess around with Mr Cotton.
- I recall him as being quite soft spoken, and friendly.
- He was until you poked the Bear. Great Person.
- Mr. C.....watched him when I was a child play hockey..... My kind of player lol!! Neil coached my son on the GDHS "REBELS" hockey team. Andy would tell you the best & most memorial years he played. Fabulous coach!! Europe trip will be forever remembered by those boys...along with winning the only North Halton Hills championship in Rebel history!! Thanks again for your time and dedication Neil!!
- yup, ditto! Rebels once, rebels twice...
-That man was one of the best parts of G.D.H.S. he was the only teacher that never asked me what I was doing out front after the bell rang. He new after I was done he would see me in his class and was perfectly cool with it. Some teachers got it and some didn't.
-I believe Wendy is the President of the Senior Centre here in Town
-Hands down Neil Cotton was my favourite teacher ever
-I remember way back in time when I followed the Raiders Neil Cotton played for Oakville and he was one tough player I was happy when he ended up playing for Georgetown....
