- Let me off with a warning when I got caught smoking in the washroom at school. So I thought he was a great principal at GDHS!

-I think he was also a Principal at Pineview for a little while while was there. If not, then it was Stewarttown while I was there. For some reason I remember being afraid of him....
-yes, I'm pretty sure I remember "hearing" some guys getting "the strap" from inside his closed office....I wasn't always a good kid in elementary school but I knew I never wanted to get the strap. I think his eyes were scary to me at the time.....lol...but remember this was a time when corporal punishment was okay to do. Most teachers had their own version of it. I remember Mr. Sturgess at Pineview had the "yardstick". 1/4 swing, 1/2 swing and the dreaded "full swing". He would do it right in class, make the kid come up to the front of the class, turn around place their hands on the desk and go for it .....
- He was our neighbour on Cleave Holm . A very kind caring a generous man . He cared sbout his community and people in it

-A pic from just last week of my mom and dad ...my dad loved being a principal and did remember soooo many of his past students..a few years back he was walking on the beach in Cuba and heard “mr chatten??” And immediately remembered who the student was ..he loved being on town council and being involved in the community ..he will be really excited when I read him all the lovely comments 😊

They still owe me a school letter. Had all the requirements but didn’t fit the moral fabric of its representation. WTF.

-He was always walking the halls keeping an eye on things. A very engaging and nice man. I usually avoided Principals like the plague because I was a bit of a troublemaker but I always liked him.
