One of the oldest buildings on Main Street , Reid's Hardware built in 1879. Only the McGibbon Block to the north on Main Street is known to pre-date it.
Originally owned by James Young who sold part of the lot to William McLeod and part to Dugald Reid.
The Style and face structure is limestone, the building still looks much like it did 143 years ago. It served for many decades as a hardware and many years as Goodlet's furniture and appliance business. It is now home to a local pub called, Shepherd's Crook.
In October 25 1989 the site was designate, ''Goodlet' s '' located at 86 Main Street South (Georgetown) as being a property of historic and architectural value or interest under Part IV of The Ontario Heritage Act.
