H.T. Arnold Glove Works
“This three-storey brick building situated at the corner of Guelph and Mill Street was completed in 1902 and housed Arnold Glove Company until 1922. By 1912 the firm had about 110 employees at this location with six travelling representatives on the road. Over 200 varieties of gloves were made in the plant at the rate of 199 pairs per day. The building later housed a farm implement business and Canadian Tire prior to relocation to The Georgetown Market Place.”
Lloyd Marks opened the Canadian Tire store at this location in 1955
I remember going to the old Canadian Tire there with my Dad, I do recall the parking lot had Christmas trees for sale. Does anyone else remember that. Was it the Scouts selling or the Lions Club?
