The Town Hall was the "centre of the Village at the turn of the century and was built about 1878. Hydro bills were paid here. The fire department was housed in the front of the building. The public library was also located here. It was in this building that one would spend a night in jail if Constable, who also had his office here, laid charges. The Town Hall sat at the corner of Back and Cross Streets overlooking the downtown area and was ruined by fire in the fall of 1968.
