-Great couple , fun to be around R.I.P.
-The very best
- Gone to soon RIP
-Fantastic couple. Barb and Jim were the best. Loved going into Goodlet’s store. Barb would always speak her mind and Jim would sit on his stool behind the counter with that big smile listening to Barb. I miss you both...RIP
- Barb's parents, Frank & Ruth Wallace, were good friends of my parents. As a kid I had a crush on their daughter, Barb. Such a beautiful smile and such a great laugh. Almost as good as her mother's laugh.
- I HAVE FOND MEMORIES.
- Lovely people. Ran a great store.
-Knew them both great couple.
-Wonderful friends. I can’t believe they’re both gone - far too young.
- Had many great chuckles with these two. Treated everyone the same . Ran a nice honest business. Were a big part of downtown.
-Great couple. I used to teach next door above the balloon shop. Barb and I would share a joke of the day.
-Wonderful people, wonderful family.
- Wonderful people. A big part of Georgetown business community
- What a great couple. Loved their store. Bought my first fridge from them.
- My mother swore by there furniture it was like royalty. 😂
- Two Really Great people gone to soon
- I still use the May tag washer I bought in 1983!
-Goodlets a very strong pillar of our community for many years from the days of Jim Sr and the business stayed in the family Jim and Barb carried on a fine tradition of good service and reliability. RIP
-Great couple. Loved to shop there. Knew them well.
- Amazing people -- amazing store. They would never talk you in to buying something more than you needed. Always helpful and friendly! Our "go to" store for appliances. Never even thought of going anywhere else.
- Think of them almost everyday. Never forget the time I went into the store. Barb came from the back and said "I didn't know you were here I didn't hear you". We met in Rockwood one day for lunch. The restaurant we intended to go to was closed. There was another small one we went to. We sat there and talked from 1 to 5. this was about 1 year before Barbs death.
- Back in the 70’s my dad was away on a long haul. Our refrigerator died. Just by coincidence my dad must have called for his daily check in (no cell phones back then he called collect). She didn’t drive at the time. Within the hour Jim was at the front door with a new fridge. My Dad called him collect as well 🙂 and there you go. When I became an adult all my appliances and furniture were from there. As I’m typing this I can still here the squeaky hardwood floors. Wonderful people.
-Lovely people
- Love, love, love those two! So fortunate to have been able to call them family!
-Great people!
- We also purchased furniture and appliances from the Goodlets! A very good honest business for the town of Georgetown.
-Wonderful people
-When I lived downtown above Jim Buck's laundromat and my fridge conked out, I went downstairs and told Jim. Within an hour Goodlets delivered a new one & and took the old one away. Great people, and awesome customer service.
- Great couple 😊 We bought all our appliances from them . Their love story was so touching!! I really think that Jim died of a broken heart after his one true love died. Wish everyone could have a story like theirs 😊💕
-Remembered with love
- Barb and I had the same surgery in Toronto at the same time. She was a great support to me getting through the pain. ❤️
- I used to love going to Goodlets hardware with Dad or Uncle Harold. I think it must be where my obsession with loving building supply and hardware stores came from. Loved the hardwood floors . Home Depot just not the same lol
-The Goodlet and Quanbury family had business and friendship that began in the 50s
- Awww 🥰 bought my first fridge and stove washer dryer from them in 1994 😃😃 only shopped in town then no box stores 👍👍
