- Came west 44 years ago with Howie's son Randy went to Winnipeg with Howie for the PanAm games his nephew Darren Zack was the best fastball pitcher in the World playing for Team Canada the velocity of his pitches were 106 mph you could barely see the ball and Darren was 280 and he was coming off the ground 4-5 inches by the time the tournament was over Howie was friends with absolutely everyone in the stands they all came over to shake his hand he was a Prince the way he got along with people I've seen very few with Howie's gift of getting along with people he was a great friend to me and I was at his funeral and he had Hey Jude played never see that again !! I'd see him driving around Calgary and ask him where ya going and he said to the Ballpark to watch the kids !!
- Here's a story about Howie he worked as a part time actor out west here in CALGARY was in a couple of locally filmed Movies and worked on 2 films with Sam Elliot who became best buds with Howie Kitts while on the set of the Hockey Movie the name escapes me something Alaska filmed in Banff Alberta anyways Howie's grandson is an actor and Model for Harlequin Romance Novels Covers the young Fabio and also is a comedy sketch writer for his friends on Letter Kenny he grew up with those kids in Calgary played Hockey with them and hung out with the main actors Jason Kitts is listed in the Credits as a writer on the Show Howie would be thrilled to say the least !! He was the Original Beauty 1 in a Million Miss Him !!!
