-I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Buck (that I recall).. wonderful picture of that old familiar smile of Mr Bucks! May they both RIP
-I went to school with Marilyn!
-Just a wonderful couple. Lots of fond memories of them.
- I had the pleasure of knowing Jim & Marilyn for the better part of 40 years. They lived and breathed for their family, loved the boys & simply adored the grandchildren. I spent countless weekends (and weeks) at the family cottage where visitors were always made to feel welcome. I really miss the early morning coffee & chats on the deck with Marilyn, waiting for all the sleepyheads to get up 🙂
-Buck's fine foods. Mom shopped there all the time. Nice folks.
-Dad (Dale Tost) worked there as a stock/delivery boy for years and remained friends with the Buck's from then on❤
Actually.. lolol.. right after they married, Dad and Mom lived above the store while they built our home on 6th line😍
-Honeymooned at their cottage. Great place awesome people
-A lovely couple. Mom shopped there and dad helped deliver groceries.
-He had the patience of a saint. He”d let kids hang out in his “office” and watch him cut the meat while their mothers shopped. ❤️
-I remember Mom phoning in her grocery order and then Bucks delivered them. She didn't drive and was at home with quite a few kids. Not only her own but she was always baby sitting a number of others.
-I remember them fondly the Buck family were very active in our community from sports with the boys to operating some very successful businesses in town. real nice folks :)
-They were our neighbours for years. Their son lives in the Buck house now. ❣️
- Lovely couple.
-Remember them well
- Stocked the shelves on Mondays after school and brother Fred delivered the groceries !
-Me and my cousin Cindy used to go watch him when we where at our grandma Lills apartment at the butcher shop in downtown Georgetown we loved to watch him make hamburger amazing people
-Wow I remember them from the store my Mom shopped in...that's a few years ago...like 50+
-My Grandmother Cummins never went out to shop. She phoned into Buck's and they delivered her groceries. In the 50's I went shopping there with my mom every Friday afternoon. Groceries we delivered. Back door was left open and groceries were left on the kitchen counter whether we were home or not. Small store by today's standards but they always had what you needed. The Buck's are definitely part of Georgetown history.
-I have very fond memories of Jim and Marilyn
- Jim and Marilyn Buck will always have a place in our memory.....they were neighbours of Ernie's …..also did all my shopping there pushing the baby carriage from Albert and McNabb Street downtown to Mill Street-someone would always help me get the carriage into the store and the groceries were safely packed in the rack under the carriage. There always a raw weiner for Andy to chew on while Rooster slept......nine times out of ten there was an extra pork chop in the package or some other tidbit not ordered. They were awesome folks, as were the staff at that store "Buck's Fine Foods" <3 So happy they had some years at their cottage on Falkenburg Road to rest and enjoy after their working years.
-Bucks fine foods!
-I worked at Bucks as well.
-Great people. Loved them both and all their boys. RIP
