-Always made gym in Centennial a lot of fun. Image of Jim leaning up against the stage talking to all of us lined up in our "houses" and for some reason always adjusting his track pants....lol.
Oh the stories we can all share lol.
An awesome teacher.
-He was a good teacher and let us play hard whatever sports we were doing at the time and I specifically remember dodgeball games being Intense because of the house system.Track and field house day was always something we all look forward to Competing in to see who won the center island trip at the end of the year.
-very true. Dodgeball was more enjoyable because he let us play...not hold back. Took a few good shots myself but also took a few good guys down when they were convinced they could last lol. Thunderbirds went 2 years in a row.....that was the highlight of the start of summer.
I'm laughing at one memory....should I even say?
Here goes....in class sitting in our houses...some people were being disruptive. We were warned a few times by Jim. Then someone (no names please) decided to test the gym floor sound abilities and "let r rip". Well...that was the end of it for all of us. OMG...we were all dying of laughter inside but not one sole laughed out loud!
- Great man!
He also claims he got my dad out at third but my dad (bill Richardson) said that he was safe. ⚾️
-He was definitely OUT !! :)
- it’s very difficult to find a “good “ picture of “H”
-Always fun to work with. Famous party words “let him talk!!” So many fond memories of Centennial when we were young and foolish
- I was a heavy kid in school and he always pushed me more then the other kids because he new deep down inside I was better. Also he only ever one time tried to wrestler me in front of the class as lol he was slammed very hard to the ground and pined, I will always remember that look on his face for ever. Awesome person coach and teacher my love for that man.
- Great Teacher !!
- Excellent teacher... part of an excellent physical education department at Centennial. Was a big part of the legacy of banners around that gym.
- An amazing man that we are lucky to call our friend! ❤️❤️
- Mr hall every time I use to see him in the hallway at the high school he’d say to me hey nicky hows it going but he also was our teacher when our teacher was away very nice and caring when we would have really deep conversations in class he would be ok let’s all talk one at a time. Mr.Hall if you see this just remember you were one of my favourite teachers of all
- fantastic teacher and even better man
-A Great Educator!and an even better person. Not sure about the golf game.
- Best teacher ever!
- Great guy💪
- Jim Hall and Mr Chatten were always there to support the students. I have stolen most of my coaching and management style from Mr Hall. As a side note i am waiting for the vest look to come back in style.
- My gym teacher at centennial.
- Amazing teacher, great memories at Centennial School!
- Mr Jim Hall my wrestling coach and gym teacher 3 years
I still remember grade 6 doing the 50 meter sprint in front of the school and Mr Hall saying "whats your name ?" Then saying " 6.3 seconds "
Great guy and hope he's still well, whenever I think of Centennial he is in the picture
-Great all around person, in school & out. Was a great influence on my son who still takes to the mats.
-The teachers at GDHS would put on a show every year and he was an enthusiastic Meatloaf. Always a good sport!!
- Also my wrestling coach through high school!! Great man!
- Good ball player.
- Greatest guy ever.Went to school with Jim and we both ended up teaching. Have had lots of laughs with Jim over the years.❣️
- Went to high school with Jim
- I did too, and these comments are the most fantastic commentary on your contributions, Jim - congratulations!!
- Teacher/ ball coach/ nice guy. Our boys loved him.
- Outstanding!!
-Awesome man.🤩
- Awesome is Right!
- Always been a really nice man. He lives on my street, his sons are great too. ☺️
- My boys loved Mr Hall (Jim) he’s a gem of our community he’s still the same person and has never change over the 40 years I have known him very kind down to earth a pleasure to talk to. Especially when he told me he wrestled down in West Lorne and Rodney area. Small world all the best Jim 💜
- OUTSTANDING! amazing guy and role model.. ! My kids were the lucky ones to know him!
-Great science and gym teacher with a sense of humour and dedication to the students. One of the committed teachers at Centennial Middle School who was heavily involved in after hours extra-curricular team sports (unpaid!) and countless students benefitted for years. Always look back at my time spent at CMS with fondness and good memories - and it was because of teachers like Jim Hall and his colleagues. Thanks to all of you.
-Great guy and coach. My kids loved him
- Jim is a and always has been a great guy. Grew up with him .I am proud to say this and thst I know him He has influenced many lives💯
- somebody oughta chicken wing that guy
-Amazing man!!!
-l He was a great gym teacher!!!
- Where did all the hair come from?
- Great teacher at centennial!
-Jim was also a great guy, I enjoyed every encounter with him from school when we were students at GDHS, while playing sports (ball) or any social meetings. A great example of why Georgetown is awesome :)
- Awesome teacher and coach!!! Tough but fair, and one hell of a wrestler.
- What a fun teacher.......
- Great guy ,helped so many young people on their way to being adults, the world could use a million more of him.
- Never had as a teacher but was a good baseball player
- The best of the best. A great neighbour, teacher, fellow educator and friend❤️❤️❤️
-Loved him as my Social Studies teacher in grade 6 & 7 at Centennial. My daughter had his wife Patty as a gym teacher at Centennial AND in a weird twist of events my son curls with Jim now! Small towns!!
- He was my grade 6 homeroom teacher. He was on my big brother's baseball team and his nickname was Organ. I didn't understand it then...
- my first male teacher!
- Hey! Whats all this teacher news, he was my student. I taught him how to play street hockey on the side hill of Stewartown town hall, i taught him how to Rass'l in grade 9, taught him how to hit, i mean work a walk in fastball, taught him how to golf on teachers PD days, how to order draughts at Holly Rock hotel, (excellent student there) to me he was a meets standards student! Great guy we had lots of legal fun
-I know I had him as a teacher and I liked him because he didn’t challenge me on being an underachiever. Looking back not many of my teachers cared that I struggled with reading and writing or math. They passed me off as stupid and moved on. Sad really. Teachers back then had no clue what Dyslexia was.
- One of the best teachers ive ever had in my whole educational span
- I was taught my his wife patty in centennial she was my science teacher and his son sub for my class a few times as well
- My dad and I both had him as a teacher. I also had his son as a teacher. Random fact: his full name is Jame Richard Hall, which is my dads exact name. His sons name is Christopher James Hall, which is my brothers exact name.
- Sorry but his full name is James Smyth Hall
- Incredible teacher and person
- His wife taught me and my twin brother in centennial and his son was and is one of my favourite staff members at gdhs
- The impact he's had on my entire family is immeasurable and he's in my opinion one of the greatest humans to ever walk this earth!!! - teacher/coach/friend/father/grandfather/husband - and mentor to so many. He's "that" teacher that changed so many lives in a positive way. - and always with a smile! - he was the original happy face emoticon - every single note Ive ever seen from him always included a smiley face :) :) :)
- I remember him as the cool gym teacher..the one you could always go to!!😁
- Outstanding.... person.... coach ..... teacher!
- Awesome supply teacher 🤙
- Now there is a great coach and great person!
- Jim and Patty Hall... Great educators and great people all around!
- What do you say about an incredible human being. Yes, great teacher, coach and friend. To our family, Jim Hall's name comes up at family dinners as our girls smile and laugh about their middle and high school experiences. The life lessons are immense. Thanks for being you, Jim. I'm hoping Patty is next because you two are an incredible team
- My son looked up to Jim Hall. I believe he was a very good influence. Then and now and still very good friends and occasional golfing buddies. Probably set the path to the great teacher Jay is today
- Had Mrs Hall as a gym teacher and later a tutor for a while, great lady!
- I am trying to find something nice to say...........still thinking.....um........get a haircut and congratulations. You deserve to be in this group of individuals who have done so much. 👏😊
- Flyfisherman extraordinaire!! If anybody ever asks me if I know anyone famous I say I know who invented the WOOOOO!
-Great guy & so many great memories of “H” & Patty. He had many “sleepovers” at our place & first person (besides Jim) to meet our son Jeff 45 1/2 yrs ago .Georgetown kids were so lucky to have him as teacher, coach & mentor and we feel blessed he is our friend .
- I got taught from him and his son
- Best teacher ever 👍🏻
- I must’ve had you as a teacher at both Centennial and GDHS. Thanks for getting me a passing grade in 11 gym! The other gym teacher failed me! I was sick and couldn’t do swimming... had pneumonia and a doctors note, and had a dislocated knee during volleyball BUT still attended gym and refereed. But she failed me. So the next year grade 12, I took 12 gym first semester and 11 gym the second semester. Jim was the teacher and asked why I was back for 11 gym. So I told him and he said he’d fix it and I didn’t need to come back! Can you imagine!! Gym was my only failed class in my life. Thanks Jim 🙏
- Jim's best attribute is Patty
- As a young person he was a great mentor
-THEEEE absolute BEST teacher of all time!! A true role model and I will never forget him, ever!! Mr. Hall (Jim Hall) you are a man of the Millennium 😆 ♥️
- He was a fantastic teacher and leader for myself and my brother.
- Always pushed us to do better.
- Best softball coach ever!
- Jim was awesome
- I play softball against is son chris. Had him as a substitute at centennial and his wife as a gym teacher and his son chris as a teacher at Gary Allen
- Taught me how to golf many years ago. He was a fantastic support through an extremely difficult situation and I’ve been privileged to bare witness to him at his most vulnerable.
- Best teacher hands down. Made school fun.
- OUTSTANDING teacher and role model for us kids who decided to make teaching our vocation! TY Jim Hall for believing in each and every student and just being YOU!!🤗 Dad says keep working on your out turn!😜
- "If I were any better I'd be twins."
- That was me in the three hole Peter! I remember that. Should have had you in the 4 spot or leadoff. You were the fastest. The ethnics ranked behind the wrestlers! Lol. Wrestler Wayne M. Was male athlete of the year and in the clean up 4x100 Mmmmm. Sorry Jimbo should have called you out on that 40 years ago.
- He was my wresting coach in Centennial.
- Had him as a home room teacher in Centennial
- Jim Hall. Your nephew checked me in today at Golf Canada booth at LPGA at Magna. When I said The Club at North Halton he looked a little worried then admitted to being related to you !!!

- Outstanding man.... individual and great inspiration to many. The best coach i ever had! You're a beaut Mr Hall
- He was my grade 6 homeroom teacher at Centennial Middle School.....hope he is well!
- Top notch person!!!
-Great man !
-Super guy
- I remember Mr Hall ;)
- Fantastic teacher back in the day
- Best Gym Teacher!!
- Another fine gentleman
- As a teacher and a coach this man was responsible for many schools in Halton having superior wrestling programs...his only fault is the fact that he was easily led astray which resulted those close to him having to save his bacon on a regular basis!
- - there's the pot calling the kettle black, my friend ! :)
- I remember that happening, covering for Jim's classes. Good job he was a good friend! Love you Jim Hall!
- Jim Hall well mr hall you did say my dad was out in 3rd. Maybe mr Atkinson is on to something .... 🙂
- I’m confused, who saved who’s bacon?
- That trait also cost him his watch back in the day ... just sayin'. Many great times with the wee Org ... like driving him home from the Hollywood one foggy night when you and Hagger left him there.
- Great little guy....helluva ball player and friend
- Proud to call him my brother. Fred Hall
-l Clearly my awesome sister in law Patty Hall deserves a medal for putting up with Jim Hall. She has the patience of a Saint! As well she has contributed so much to Georgetown. Fred Hall

- Took them long enough to recognize truly great local talent. Awesome career Jim. Congrats on making the page.
- If I can find it, I'll post here a photo that reveals what many don't know ... back in Jimmy's Stewarttown days, he did have hair.
