-Old neighbours
- So nice to have memories.
- Awesome folks may the RIP together :)
- They both were great people . I had the pleasure of serving with Tracker on the Georgetown Fire Dept....lots of laughs...RIP Jimmy and Ruth....
- One of the founders of the Georgetown Girls Pipe Band. Much gratitude to Jimmy as the band was a huge part of my life.
- My old neighbours from #1 Cleaveholm. Always a friendly wave as they held court from their veranda. Ruth had the cleanest windows on the street. And even in his 90’s Jimmy could still be seen zipping around the block road testing a mini bike he’d just fixed; an excellent small engine repairman who was the neighbourhood go-to guy for lawnmower issues! The funniest time was Halloween about 15 years ago when he dressed up as a woman for the trick or treaters as he answered the door! Great sense of humour. Very much missed from our street.
- Lovely folks. Jimmy was a piper but was the drum instructor for the original Georgetown Girls Pipe Band. ❤️
- Some of us piped in to his residence on his hundredth birthday!!
-, right! I forgot that.
- That was so appreciated Linda, jimmy Jimmy was in awe when you all showed up for his Birthday.we will always remember that day. Amazing. You couldnt couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. Jimmy was a very humble person and enjoyed his life.
- Really wonderful people!
- We celebrated his 100th birthday with him.
- Jimmy sure loved and respected The Pipe Band Doreen White. He always talked about it. We even took his Bag Pipes into the residence for him so he could try to fix them up a bit.
- Mum was a good Friend of Ruthies when we lived in the Glen. I have a photo of their Wedding with them walking through the Firemen;s Honour Guard. Wish it was clearer & I would put it up. Lovely couple.
- if I can find one I will send it in. It was a nice fireman wedding. Great memories. We miss both of them so much. I thank God that my daughter Joanne and I were able to take Jimmy for his appointments in Milton and Ruth went with us. After Jimmy fell and couldn't walk again we went to hospital every week and then to Brampton every week for 6 months. Finally we did get him moved to Georgetown after bugging them constantly. Then we continued on with Ruth. It was so hard when she lost Jimmy but we made sure we were there for her to the end. They are together again They appreciated us looking out for them and making sure they were well cared for.🙏🙏
- So glad you were there for them Millie.
- I wouldn't have had it any other way. Blood is thicker than water and everyone else in my family has passed on. When I got the call that Jimmy had died I was so angry as we had left specific instructions to call as we didn't want him to be alone. I had been in on the Thursday and Friday then he passed on Saturday morning. I immediately left Guelph as I knew how devastated Ruth would be. She said, Millie, Jimmy is dead and I felt so helpless but I knew how she felt as I lost my husband in 2001. We made sure she was represented well at his Funeral and that he was at peace. Unfortunately you can only do so much but most importantly be there for her and we were.
