-That’s my grandma. Ran the fireball. Used to love going to watch wrestling with her on Saturday afternoons. She loved Whipper Billy Watson and hated The Sheik. Great memories!
-Wes Oliver I remember the Oliver family well. Mrs. Oliver was a lovely lady. What were the names of the Oliver girls, June and ?. Wes Oliver a great guy too.
-Marie
-there was also Louise & Birdie. My dad was a great guy proud to be his son
-Yes, your Dad was a great guy. You have every reason to be proud to be his son.
-, yes grandma did a lot for the fire department and dispatched the calls for them. Grandma loved her job. Miss her do much😘😢
- I remember your mom from the 'hood!
-Proud to say that this is also my Grandma Pearl Oliver. My mom was Louise Oliver who married Bruce Mossop. So many wonderful memories of Grandma. Her apple pies, vanilla fudge, our Sunday dinners, family gathering with Aunts, Uncles and cousins and sleep overs. She was the first Georgetown Fire Department dispatcher starting in September 1953 and going forward for 19 years. She gave loyal and dedicated service to the town also by answering and dispatching not only for the fire department but also for the Police and Ambulance. I also remember that little black button on the wall that she would push to set the fire siren off for the volunteer firefighters to respond to firehall.
- Great person , by spending time with her and the family I married her grandaughter and got interest peaked for firefighting. Now both sons are into it and I'm still with the FD . Thank you Pearl Oliver
