-any idea where this location is on the Credit?
-Im guessing down by the dam.. around wolf's ponds area..it's from my grandparents photos and they lived on john street hill.. It might even be the ponds
-is that the one we use to swim in think it was the end of John St. ???
-going back 60 yrs lol Bob and Ernie remember more then me , but it does look right
-Looks like the area for sure ,but taken before our time ..We all had great times at the four willows ..
-Yes, down the path from the end of John. That part of the river before it curved towards the dam was calm, and had deep spots to swim and shallow spots for those that didnt swim, to still get wet.
-thought it had willows in the name . and yes we did have fun lots of memories lol
-My brother Dave Cook and I spent a lot of time swimming, fishing and playing at the four willows when we were kids in the '60s... very lucky to have such a free and wonderful childhood...
-Was it called the 4 Willows? There was another swimming hole off main street across from RJ's next to Miss St jeans farm called the BBB can anyone recall what BBB meant?
-I do.
-Bare Ball Beach, The 3 B's.
-Bare Bum Beach !
-That is what I was gonna say
-Ronnie that is what I remember it being called, just a mud hole covered with cedar roots! Came out dirtier that before you went in!
-But your shorts were clean.....lol
-Anybody been near it to have a look in this century?
-I would agree with Ernie C Pearce that it is the 4 Willows swimming hole. Many hours spent down there over our youthful years!!
-As a kid we either would ride our bikes or hike down there and spend several hours just having fun (y)
-On the way to or from the 5 cent Orange Crush was a cooler in those hazy days of summer.
-Bare Bottomed Beauties
-Big changes from the days when we played down there.
-The turtle pond is gone now, which was the water course for the old mill before it became a pond. The intake port was that concrete thing at the end closest to the road. We could sit and fish on it or watch the turtle moving around leaving their movements showing in the green duckweed. It may be hidden under the new bridge. Hard to tell now since the trees have had lots of time to grow.
-I remember going fishing there lots of times. It was only a five minute walk from home on mountain view rd. In those days(early to mid 60's) it was just an old dirt road past Schenks; bottling factory past 5 houses on the right, nothing on the left & down the path if you didn't trip & roll down to the bottom. wish I could get those days back again.....
-Do you remember the three b's? Bear bum beach?
-Great pic
