-My very first job was here.
-They still pump it for ya!! Service for your $$$
-Wow, Cango is still around? I run the one on Trafalgar road many years ago. Loved it.
-Next door was a conveniene store. The Georgetown Resevoir is at the curve.
-THE same family members have own that spot for a very long time
-They pump your gas and clean your windshield front and back. Great Service!!
-They still give the "old-fashioned" great service!!! Thanks Grant Baker and staff.
-Would often thumb from that intersection in the early 70's on my way home north of Ballinafad.
-My brother, Jim worked there when he was a teenager.
-Great place to go for good service and a friendly hello.
-My family’s place ! Love seeing all the positive comments 🙂
-Your Dad and Grandpa have done a lot of great work there!
-When highway 7 diverted around the garage, they were smart and put pumps to what was the back of the garage at that time. Kept the garage going strong with their friendly service.
-Helped us out twice in a pinch within the last 3 years, or so. Both quick fixes, but first one could have been catastrophic (tire had become loose !! :O ). Didn't want to take any money. Second time, I was driving by myself, and I all of a sudden heard a noise, like something dragging from underneath the car. Was some kind of shield or something. Put it on the hoist, removed it and said it was nothing that was really needed. Seriously, he could have said it was some major thing, and I'd have been none the wiser. Again, didn't want to take anything. Finally gave in to taking money when I told him to use it to buy pizza or coffee or something for the employees. CLASS ACT!!
-GRANT IS ONE OF THE BEST
-Worked there when it was Silver creek shell. Also Midtown Shell in Gtown
-I have heard those Shell stories! 🤣
-Laverne worked there part time when Clarence owned it. Clarence was a really nice man.
-The Mcphersons were very nice people. They had a Stag and Doe party for us (Jack and Rhona Scholz) in 1968. Oh my gosh, I am dating myself
-Glenn is the Best mechanic ever!
-I worked for Grant in the 70s when it was Shell .... GOOD TIMES .... Started out at a $1.00 per hour pumping gas .... lol ... And gas was .37 cents per GALLON
-I remember Grant giving special attention to the vehicle of Mr. Bennett, the owner of Scottsdale Farm, when he would pull in for service. I think Grant’s father worked as a herdsman for Mr. Bennett at one time.
-I also remember Stompin Tom coming in for gas and short visit to THE BACK ROOM for a short chat ... lol
-Interesting! Stompin Tom lived across from us on Trafalgar
-I still go there
