-I remember going to vacation bible school there in the summer, early 60s.
-Yes .right.....
-oh the memories there! Lived right beside it!!
-Yes White House i still never forget....
-Was it a double house there was a White House that we lived in one side and the Jones's lived in the other
-Yes it was ....Jones lived beside us for a bit ...you lived there too? We did guessing from 64 (5) - 72
-I got married in 64 so I guess it was before you we went to 27 Ewing for right after that
-I lived in that house too! Jones lived beside us, we moved before I started grade 3, so I think it was around 63/64.
We used to have so much fun in the Church driveway. Played cops and robbers on our bikes and used the window wells for jail cells. I was only 6 or 7 when we moved but still had a lot of great memories there.
-Many wonderful memories spent there as a family. Every Sunday morning the organ and congregation started with the beautiful hymn Holy, holy, holy.❤️😇
-I remember going to my moms batisted there THE PULPIT WAS MOVED TO ONE SIDE and that is where they did it IT was like a big basin
-Anyone know where the records for that church are?
-Our first apartment was at 81B Main North - almost directly across from this Church. Still beautiful and the steeple can be seen from afar
-I use to go to bible school every summer here....Eva Norton my aunt took me....loved it
-we lived right across the road in the early 80's
-My grandparents lived right across the road. Was in that church many times. When I was just a young girl I used to think it was so cool that there was a swimming pool in a church. Lol
-Many memories there..baptism, CGIT,Sunday school, youth groups and my first big solo at my sister wedding
-I went to vacation Bible school with you there one summer. Do you still sing?
-I went to Sunday school and my oldest boys went to daycare.
-I remember the church bells playing in Sunday mornings. Not good for parents hangovers lol
-I have reconnected with a couple of people I knew
-others I remember the names. hello everyone in and from Georgetown
-Use to sit on those steps
-I believe all the records from the Baptist Church will be in the archives at McMaster University in Hamilton. We went to this church until it closed. There were no bells here. That must have been at the United Church. Many memories.
-There were also church bells at Knox Presbyterian, I guess the sound could have been either from there or St. John's United.
-I grew up going to this church. mom sang in the choir. I have forever family friends from this place. CGIT, Explorers, youth, can't forget mission band and white gift Sundays, wearing red velvet dresses and reciting Luke 2 on stage at Christmas! The summer Sunday School picnics, pot lucks and dessert nights. The foundation of Jesus began in my heart and life at this little Baptist Church on the hill of Georgetown.
