-I lived in Georgetown since 56 I don't remember this parade, maybe out of town at the time.
-also moved to Georgetown July '67 from England...
-Remember this parade. The trucks with the mini museum came into town too. With their horns they played the opening bars of O Canada! Went to Expo on a tour run by Scott's Buses.
-You guys are all newbies in Georgetown. My Grandmother Mary Ann 'Polly' Cummins, nee King, was born in Georgetown in the 1880's. The King family goes way back. My Grandfather, Martin Cummins came to town when he married my grandmother around 1910.
-Me too, both my dad and my grandmother were born in Georgetown, in the same house and the same room on John Street. 1933 & I think 1914.
-doesn't it give you a sense of belonging and roots to know we are part of a town's history.
-My gr grandfather came here from Ireland in 1870. He lived in the first house that was beside the old arena. My grandfather was born there. My grandkids are 6th generation georgetowners.
-i marched in that parade ... the band playing 1little 2little .... we love you

- I moved to Georgetown in 64 from Bell Island NL our son was born in 67 the last time the Leafs won the trophy now he is Boston all the way 😄😄😄
-Geez, I played clarinet in The Citizen Band and we marched in wool Blazers in what felt like 90 F heat. We played 🎼Ca-na-da, and two and three Canadians🎶 all the way to the Cenotaph (I think) which was at the top of Guelph and Main.
-Oh my! I remember that.
- Remember the Centennial coin everyone got? Still have mine.
