-I remember when the group of Doctor pioneers made plans for the hospital my Doctor Thompson was one of the Doctors.
-Actually Joan, my father-in-law , Jack Gunn, a councilman at the time was the first to propose the hospital. He spearheaded the fundraising and the work to put it through council. The Drs then came on board. Jack was the first Board Chairman. His portrait, by local artist, Dorothy Stone, used to hang in the hospital lobby.
-I remember reading about how your father-in-law started the process in the opening pages of the book that I read about Georgetown Hospital. I also remember seeing his portrait in the lobby.
-Boy, many hours of my life were spent there. Great staff to work with. Many memories.
-they save my life when i had the chicken poxs many many years ago was a very sick kid hats off to them
- Used to be a candy striper
-I delivered both my boys at Georgetown Hospital. My mom was a RN for many years... I started my employment there doing dishes in the cafeteria for $3.25/hr back in the day...
-1972 had my appendix removed
- I was born there lol
-My Dad & I walked our beagle through the forest that was there before the school & hospital were built! My two sons were born at Georgetown Hospital & had kidney stone surgery there & my Mom, Doreen Jenner worked in the office for a number of years! Fabulous nurses & Doctors! Sure saw a lot of changes in Georgetown since 1951!
-Always nicknamed a "First Aid Station" sometimes back in the day but my family never wanted for anything there - two boys were born, tonsils removed, gall bladder operation there and each and every time, great care, wonderful caring staff and Doctors! Hats off to the Georgetown Hospital <3
-Had my three kids there could not ask for a better hospital ,had Doctor Macintosh for all of them
-He was a good Doc..
-He was my doc, and two of my kids were born there. Also had a very long stay there after our car accident. Linda Paul was working there at the time.
-He was my Dr. too. When he passed away, I will always remember that the Independent didn’t even acknowledge his passing. Sad, for such a brilliant man.
-I had a procedure there last Friday and it was seamless... Thank you!
- Doctor mac saved my life.. back when I was 7 mons old..my parents took me in with a fever. He recognized it as Spinal meningitis and sent me to Sick Kids.
- Me too. We lived on Victoria Ave. I had a very high fever and Dr. MacIntoish came to the house diagnosed me with spinal meningitis , called ambulance and I was rushed to Sick Kids for treatment just in time. Saved me too. I still have the bill and paper work from Sick Kids.
-I had Doc Mac as well. Amazing man.
-My Mom worked there for years...i have made many appearances there myself lol
-I remember her purple dress, and her asking us if our mother knew where we were lol
-My father would talk fondly about your mom. Dad was part of the Georgetown volunteer ambulance in the 70’s and 80’s.
-The Bennett Centre is also amazing. Will never forget how respectful and kind they were when mom died last March.
- Dr Chamberlaine saved my life (Guelph General pre GH days)
-That was a brilliant idea of someone's to have TBC right next door to the hospital (and a connecting tunnel was genius!). My Dad loved being back with old friends.
-My nephew was born there 30 years ago today (October 27th 1987)
-I remember being there way back in the day for tonsillectomy and my favourite aunt who was a nurse there came to see and comfort me!😇
-My dad, Gus Sales, was the groundskeeper there for decades. I spent many summers working with him, sweeping and mowing.
-He did a beautiful job. They need him back.
-My dad worked there in the maintenance dept. Delmer Majuery
-My first nursing job was there. Sons born there.
-Born here. A girl named Jennifer was born on the same day in the next bed over from me. We went to school together for a couple of years and were friends... then I moved to B.C. Never saw her again. 😕
-I was born here... Jan 1964! My father had many stays here as well as my grandmother and my aunt. Good as well as not so good memories here.
Glad to have this little hospital here in town.
