-He would have been about 6 - can't remember who else was on the team. He only played one year, I think and then we moved. He's 50 now. LOL You were quite young , if I remember correctly!

-Your assistant coach was Jim? You guys were fun to play for! Your Wife had just about the only House in the Glen that had baseballs bouncing of it from Soupy Campbell and Bill Sykes. Lol

-Good for you. I stopped at 35. Arm gave out. Still love Fastball but so hard to find nowadays.
-I live in Burlington now. Thats a fun fastball league here.
I remember facing Kipper and Gimpel. Hornby Glen was an awesome rivalry.

-Gimpel one year. Kipper the next. I think Pickett was our age so we saw him every year. I seem to remember you having a great sense of humour. I played a couple years of men's fastball with Ross McClure and his brother Glenn.

Ross was a great friend for many years. Unfortunately he died about 6 years ago
-Yes I remember. Very sad. He was a good guy. You guys also had a teammate that was hit by a car in PeeWee? I think it was. I remember it was such a reality check for me at such a young age.
-Ernie Gillis was his name. No shortage of tragedy growing up. My best friend Glen Brown (centre field) killed in motorbike accident Dec 4 1980
-Wow! Count our blessings. Ernie had curly dark hair and was pretty entertaining as I recall. I kind of remember Glen Brown I think. He had reddish hair?
-.... cheered on The Glen Men's team in the seventies...."no hits, no runs, no errors, no walks given up"......

-THAT was not the first ball park WHEN i first played ball the GLEN ball park was at the other end of the GLEN [left side of road just before the first bridge]I think it was HAINSES field

-Bud Hayes was pretty dam good umpire as well. He also loved his baseball as much as anyone.

-Bernie was a good Ump as well. I haven't heard that name in quite a while

-I played a few years in the glen with jeff and terry haines, glen fendley, steve pearse. jeff and terrys dad was our coach..

-Watched some great mens games. bucky and rick peavoy. Wow could those mens teams play ball. Used to pack the park..
-I remember pitching and Jim Forbs calling the game standing behind me on the mound lol good times playing ball down there best Diamonds around
-I also remember David Leslie and his dad Gary and my dad Wayne and I building the addition onto to booth for more room for special events lol
-watched my dad play there a few times in the 1960s
-I know it well. Scoured it while metal detecting. Found a few lost treasures there.
-Before the Ballpark this was my great grandparents farm...I have Korzack and Davison in my blood :)
-Mr Davidson donated that land for the ballpark. He was such a nice man. The Korzacs were great people too. Bill was a heck of an umpire and loved his baseball as much as anyone.
-yes my Uncle Cliff donated the land.....Bill was my Grandad :)

-I remember Earl Cuthbert's voice calling out all the plays. I could see the lights of the ball park flooding into my bedroom window on those warm summer evenings. That was always comforting to me. :-)
-I spent many days and evenings in that park. I would beg my dad to go down early to watch the men warm up hoping to be asked to be bat boy for the game. Loved it when Jack and the Jesters? Came to town and the California cuties!

I remember watching Eddie strike guys out from 2nd Base. And he was past his prime then. Man could that guy throw the ball. I still have a King and his Court T-Shirt somewhere. I can understand still having that ball Bud Hayes. Pretty amazing accomplishment!
-It's really to bad I miss going down playing or Even watching fast ball ( windmill ) what ever happened to it it couldn't have died off everywhere??
-YEARS ago he was in inglewood [ in his prime ]they said his curve ball from 2nd base would travel 8to 10 feet WOWSO WOWSO
-Starts the pitch behind you. Ends the pitch on the back outside line of the other batters box. But the batter and the plate Umpire didn't know cause they were running for cover. 😂
-All my life I heard the story of how dad got a hit off of Eddie.. so when they came to town a few years back, I told him we were going. They had a draw to bat against him.. out of the 3 tickets drawn I won 2 of them, of course I sent dad up there and yeah he got a hit.. and the second ticket went to Andy..he got a hit as well.. was a great day..

-Played ball for the Glen in mid to late seventies. Many fond memories the fondest of which was us playing "the old timers" probably in 1978. Loved when the concession there was a going concern and not just somewhere to shelter from the rain as it is now.

-Played there many times, Brother Marty and Me playing for Hillsbourg ,we lived on the wrong side of the road, always did well in the tournaments!
