-Looked better 50 years ago
-Prior to the bridge being built, I used to operate a sander/snowplow for Halton Region down through the valley. Scary as hell ... especially during a freezing rain storm.
-all the school buses would be stuck at the bottom
-It would be nice to see the old Hungry hallow?
-Sliding down one side and trying to get up the other was one of those winter memories.
-I remember waiting for cars to go across 1 at a time making sure that everyone got up the other side haha
-yes, was better before by far,
fond memories of the Hollow indeed
-I think it was even steeper than this at one point
-Definitely! This photo was taken after initial "improvements".
-It was steeper on the north end ( near town)
-and the chicken farmer on the southwest crest
-I lived on the southwest crest for years. Did you mean goat farmer ?
-That was where my car used to hit the ditch when my plan to shoot the hollow (from the north) went bad.
-Love the old one!!!!
-Many a party down at the hunger hollow.
-It was so steep it was smart to walk your bike down. We weren't smart. Lots of pebbles in the palms
-Was scared to ride my bike down the old gravel road😥
-I remember an old dirt hill
-Our Dad took us there to learn to drive with a standard!
-Wow hard to remember that hill...lol
-WOW It was gravel the last time I saw it.
-Gravel, bush and drinking beer at the bottom just off to the right last time I was there
-Can you believe we walked to the plowing match on our school outing?
-Yep l seem to remember that also.
-Was known as the Ninth Line in the sixties when I came to town. Perhaps the name changed with the development in either the late fifties or the eighties. The end north of town shows why its a suitable name. This section did too before the bridge was built.
-I remember walking with Centennial school to the Ontario Plowing Match, at the corner of 10 Sideroad.
