-Hunters inn was great, but Mattinas was the best restaurant ever in Georgetown
-Never ever went there. But I do seem to remember that there was a fair amount of trees and bushes around the front giving it that somewhat quiet and clean look.
-Mattinas was a well known Restaurant , not just in Gtown but in the GTA area..

-Paul Eckert owned it when it was the store....remember getting the mini pops from there back in the day.
-And Rita Maw before them in the 50s...
-Went there for a Wonderful Anniversary Dinners/Parties. I think 25th???
-I remember it as a corner store too....used to keep the empty pop bottles down the side of the building......we would help ourselves and go in and buy candy!!!!! Long long time ago!!!
-It was about 1968 when my brother Jim and wife Chris rented it as their first home.

-Betty Cox ran it for a few years as well
-Great restaurant had many a meal there.
-Used to be a stage coach station. my Dad sold meat there when it was Hunter's Inn, in 1974 and the guy who owned it had old pictures, or newspaper stuff, I saw on the wall.
-My parents ran it as a store from 1960-1960, it was then sold to the owner of the building next door. Barry Hedley is his name I think, he owned it when it was Cercor I believe.
-As a kid, I lived on the other side of the bridge on Maple Avenue East. I remember Mr. Eckert fondly. 14 cents for a 10 ounce Coke, but if you had that extra 2 cents, you could get the 16 ounces! Pete Cox, Calgary.
