-Went to the old school down the road for a couple of years.
-Me too Gloria! Thinking about the long one mile walks we would have missed had this school been there when we were kids!
-I attended the old school as well. From gr 1 to gr 8. Fun times there. Not just the mile walk but also riding a bike up that big curved hill.
-When I first moved to Georgetown in 1968 this is where I taught. After 5 years in Toronto it was a bit of a shock to teach in a consolidated rural. In those days no staircase to the top just stones. There was no gym or library. We had a halftime secretary, Ralph McKewan was principal and a lady from the village came in and swept the classrooms every night. I loved it! It was so free and easy. Staff consisted of about seven teachers. You actually went to school and taught! I look back on those days with fond memories. I taught Grade two.
-fun times here!! best schoolyard memories!
-Attended Limehouse. Such fond memories. Mr. McKewan was a wonderful principal!!!
-I always laughed at the fact they built a school on the edge of a cliff. What could go wrong? Next to a wrecking yard on top of limestone caves near the train tracks under a single lane bridge. The most dangerous school in Canada. I was there from 2 - 6 and only hurt myself once. I remember we performed GULIVER as the school play.
where the stairs are is where my brother Ted fell and almost landed in the swamp where the school buses now park
We had Mr Kavanagh as a principal there. He was fantastic. Movies every Friday in the gym and he used to let us pull his tie. Lol. Than when we moved in to Stewarttown he came with us and became the boys gym teacher.
-Best principal ever! He would also tug on the little girls braids as a joke then you turned and pulled his tie -did this many a times as I had a long braid most days
-I climbed those stairs once not sure I could do it now lol
-I spent 11 happy years there as Secretary. ..great school.. I could write a book on all the experiences.
-THOSE STAIRS WEREN'T THERE WHEN I WENT
-My Mother taught at one room Limehouse school in 1949 -50. On corner of Hywy. 7 and Limehouse Rd. So long ago.😊
-That’s the school our mom went to. I remember her telling us...the stone from it is a house on the 5th line now.
-I remember when that school building was there but the school we went to was on the 5th line
-Remember it too but was not our school.
-It was a long walk
-My 2 granddaughters went to that school great place
-1-6
-Limestone - everywhere!
-I went to this school for grade 1
