-Played there for the first time in Tykes in the fall of 1966! It's all gone now.remember going to the rink, stopping at the lights, and seeing the old Canadian Tire store on the left.

-haha I remember playing in old Vic in Streetsville as a kid in the 60s and early 70s. I remember when they replaced the chain link with plexiglass, long before Gtown Memorial.
-My family used to watch my brother played hockey, my sister was a figure skater for a short time. My dad, my brother, sister and I used to skate there every Wed or Sat or Sun. Good memories there.

-Spent so many hours in there remember cost 5 cents to go skating & dance up stairs

-That isn't the arena that I or my husband remember - we skated there in the late 50's - there was no overhang but just 6-8 steps up then the doors to go inside the building - was there a reno?
-That was my favorite arena. Alcott didn't feel as cozy. It also had the rec pool out back.

Great hot chocolate from Mrs Pries snack bar. Skated, ice and roller, here too. Georgetown Girls' Pipe Band practiced in the Rose Room upstairs.

-Anyone remember the hole in the back wall.....Ed let us get in the arena there any time before Sat morning hockey......late 50's.....had to get his shepard watchdog to chase us till we could trap him in the lobby.....just had to scrape the ice when we were done......hard to believe we did that.....great memory.....
-I do remember that also we would sneak in to see the Raiders .But thanIstarted my career as a rink rat and we guard the hole so no one get unless they were good friends
