-Grew up on that street. Fond memories.
-I remember living on the Blvd. 50 years ago and splashing you at the mud puddle
-lol. Yes 50 years ago...hard to believe eh? Going to the Colliers every day?
-My Mom told me that my Grandfather Bastedo and some of my Uncles helped build these houses.
-Lived there for a few years - amazing street to raise kids. Neighbours were awesome!!!!!! Still drive down the street every so often when I'm in town. We were at # 43, just around the bend on the left.
-Don Barringer and family lived at 43 when we were there —-sure I spelled the name wrong sorry
-We rented from Dave Barrager!! -- ( family had Barrager's Cleaners)
-Hi Suzanne, what years did you live at #43. I lived at #45 from 1956-1968
-Miller’s lived at #41 for a while in the late ‘50’s early ‘60’s
-We were there from 70 until 73, but I think you had moved to another part of Georgetown when we had you and Bruce babysit for us, and then Bruce took care of our kids a lot after we moved to the Glen. I think we must have gotten your names from someone on the blvd. to call in the first place.
-your right Lynda I had my house number wrong so nice to see some familiar names on here, my last name is Millar
-I owned a house on Normandy with Joe Campbell, #22 maybe? Lived there with him, Bob Cunningham, Paul Cunningham and a few other bad characters for several years lol
-You guys were great Hallowe'en scarers!😲
-NFL sundays on Normandy
-Oh ya and horseshoes till dark
-Ha😃ha😃ha. Good old Normandy Blvd. It was actually #19 as I recall. After Beave & Howie moved out, in came cousin Brian & Danny Norman. Now there was a handful for sure. Wow. Great memories 😊🍺🍺
-Yep Dan Norman Great Guy left us to soon!!!
-ya I remember Dan from Norval, had a brother Peter And a sister Virginia I think ..
-Yup I think you are right Bob, #19. After some back and forth and looking at pictures thats where I ended up also
-I know he had a brother named Dave, not sure about the rest
-ya it was Dave not Peter
-We used to plow all the snow into the middle, until some moron complained that they had to drive all the way down the street and back, to get home, so, we filled in the drive ways instead.
-My mom on Normandy Judy Hayes
-What number is that house?
-We lived at 45 ——we moved to Hillsburgh in 1955–did you live on Hillsburgh also—-we sold our house to Doug Peck
-I forgot my husband and I also lived at #1 in the early 60s—-lived beside Rayners and we rented from Bill Hunter
-What a small world -- so you were in the house beside us, but before we moved there. Yes, we lived in Hillsburgh for 29 years -- from '75. Was your maiden name Spence? If so, we lived across from your parents on Orangeville St. We were at # 29 Orangeville. If I have this right, your parents had a farm at the south end of Hillsburgh and then moved into the house that Dance's had across from us.
-thanks, now I know when we moved to the Blvd. 😊
-My childhood home was #26..lived there even after I was married and both my sons were born while living here..many..many special memories and strong friendships forged from this street, which remain intact today..now in N.S.
-26 was our first house. Right beside Bill and Verna Schenk. I was Roy Rogers to Diane's Dale Evans. Moved to #57 beside Herb and Mima Brown and Bob and Joan Hore before moving to Shelley Street. Normandy will always be home. Best memories there.
-#57 was the house dad was suppose to have..your dad got #26 and he kindly changed with my family as we had more kids than you..did you know this story Bob McMenemy?

-We live at 26 now. Last 40 years. Hope to be here for another 40! Love our street and home! Right in the middle of town now.

-My Aunt and uncle live at #26 Eleanor Burke and Kevin.
-I believe you are the people who bought my family home #26 from my dad..Jack Timleck..in or around 1976? Is this correct?
-Yes. And thank you! We love Normandy Blvd and never plan to leave! The street has not changed. New faces maybe but the feeling among us is exactly the way you and former residents claim! Time for another reunion I think!
-Normandy will always be home to me..happy you enjoy living on the street
-I grew up at #45, until early ‘70’s. Best place to grow up back then. A dead end street, we played every sport on the the road!!!! I remember when a new snow plow driver would not know or forget to plow the snow into the middle of the Blvd. I agree with Kent Robinson - What a pain! We & many other neighbours always dug out a section in front of our house to drive though. Sure made great snow forts. Our neighbour at #49 would shovel put the fire hydrant. We made snow tunnels the length of that!!! Great memories growing up on that street! 😊
-I grew up at #49 then moved to #51.
-We were next door to you - I believe it was you who we had babysit, one time you were busy, so your brother, Bruce, came - that's when we lived in the Glen (after moving from Normandy). He babysat for us many, many times. We just had our 2 boys then.
-My mother bought this home and since then we've all grown up in this house. #24, we even still live here
-#24 was owned by Bud and Marg Hyde when I lived at #26..great neighbors
-its a beautiful home
-When we moved there in 48 there was one telephone I think by Stapleton on a pole on the middle of the road and when it rang someone would run to answer it then go get whoever it was for
-Just like Green Acres LOL
-Known as the Party street ..had many laughs in back yards up and down that street lol!
-hey..is that good or bad..ha ha
-It's all good Jackie lol!!
-Just lots of good people on that street!
-absolutely..wouldn't change a thing..and everyone helped each other..great street to grow up on..

-in the gully you mean?
-yes in the gulley I seem to remember a drive shed in there also
-I remember the horses delivering milk every morning. They would come around the corner at 7:10 am, that was my morning alarm clock 😊
-Hi and say Hi to Bruce I liked the horse drawn milk wagons
-I still have my coffee cup from the reunion. Have a Tshirt somewhere and some pictures. Will have to look for them.

-Doug is getting a kick out of this. He remembers a lot about Normandy !
-#25 the house he grew up in?
-Now I'm thinking we were either 19 or 25, definitely an odd number in the first stretch before the curve
-It was not 25! That was Chuck and Marge Davies house !
-#9
-I am thinking more light 19 Audrey, I know it was a shared driveway
-This would have been around 1978 ish
-Great street
-Kings ? Catherine ?
-The King girls were Shirley, Katherine, Wendy and Karen
-Brings back memories when i walked more than drove. Wow you have alot of snow, More than here in Edmonton
-We, the kings were # 32, Walker Cleave on one side of us.
-I shared a room with Katherine on Woodlawn in Toronto and lost track of her when she went to Sunnybrook and got married
-Kathryn has 3 kids, all married and is a grandmother to 5....
-Karen is retired and has been for about 4 years, She has two ‘kids’! Her daughter is getting married this year. Her and her hubby like travelling....you?
-I’m retired as well. It will be 6 years in April I have two sons... both married.....4 grandchildren.
- We lived across the street from you. Katharine & I are about the same age.
-I remember Barb Cleave, was her older sister Jane?
-yes Jane was her older sister.
-Hi Linda, yes, i remember and your brothers Bruce and Lawrence
-They were a great couple —Aunt Etta worked at the Fairview Inn at the corner of Edward St.
-Remember the coal bin in the room behind the kitchen and the stove in the living room —no furnaces at that time and how hot it was upstairs in summer —-
-Dorsey's
-Rayners Cooks Lees Lloyd’s Barbers Kidd’s Lambert’s Sargents Gilchrist Davies Stapleton Tost Dobey Bradley Whitman Dorsey Connelly Crawford Barrager Spence Collier Kennard Hoare McMenemy Brown Lloyd Boyle Presswood Cleave King Yates Henderson Lewis Schenks Allen Lane Lane Hardman Parmeter Rayner Stevens —-forgot some
-There were two Rayners Len and Bob and two Lanes Gord and the Grandparents —I did put Lloyd’s on twice sorry and I missed the other Sargents Doug and Josie and forgot Gudgeon and Timleck
-I believe Marsh and Zella Timbers lived there also they were friends of my moms
-Yes they did
-I remember when they delivered coal before my dad dug out our basement. We road our bikes down there in the winter. They made the coal shed into an extra bedroom off the back of the house
-any of the Tost's on here.. I believe Josie was the last of the originals.
-didn't they call Marilyn Porter Ugg
-Oh the fun we had. Don Fendley my brother remembers you giving him 25 cents to go to Kay’s. Like get lost little brother. Lol. Best time of my life in my young years on Normandy. Normandy peeps should get together and collaborate on a book. Lol. So happy to still be in touch with so many Blvd. Brats as we were called.
-Love the book idea!!!
-Cannot think of a better street to have grown up on, have lots of great memories. We were at #55.
You have a brother Jeff and sister Robin?
-Yes. Just Robin and myself left. Jeff passed away in 2015.

-Susan was my Mom! I spent a lot of my childhood at 47 Normandy Blvd.
-i lived at 49
-Are you Jane Kitchener — worked with Pat and Fred
-yes I am. Lol
-Grew up at #47. Neighbours on either side that I remember were the Pecks and the Kitchener's.
-I used to pester Mrs Collier to take the twins for a walk in their stroller they were so cute and quite a novelty —the only other twins that we knew were Jeanette and Judy Stamp and they lived at the other side of town and went to Chapel St.
-lol. This is certainly a walk downtown memory lane eh?
-I always remember Chuck talking about the 50 wartime houses meant for Normandy ! And he was pissed that only 48 arrived ! Mighty funny !
-The thing was that meant two families had to wait and housing was so scarce then —I can remember how exciting it was to get one
-Do you remember hearing that? And I agree, it had to be very sad that 2 went missing ! Hard to believe that could even happen !
-ya it’s the one we own now, love this house, it is the biggest model with the centre stairway. We also have a basement. Always wondered when it was put in. Done a lot of renos and lots more to come this yr.
-27 next home over Chub and Chirp Stapleton my grandparents
- Mark And Betsy Tellier there now ..
-I know the houses on the Blvd were a cookie cutter print!! There are LOTS of them out west here as well. By only 48 arriving do you mean they were a prefab type model?
-Here is from my memories families that I recall when I frequented the Blvd both to join in the fun of various sports, but also I had other thoughts as there were several real attractive young ladies there... Brown, Moody, Hoare (Kelly) Grace,Porter, Whetham, Bradley,Gilgrest, Davies, Sargent, Inglis, Cooks, Rayner, Tansley, Hardman, Lane, Lewis, Timleck, Henderson, Cleave and I am sure more will come, takes a little longer :)

-we lived next to the Tosts. Many fun times.
is a great one for sure Linda. I do remember you as well. Our Dad’s sang in the choir together also.
-Such a wonderful street! I could run through my back yard, cross Maple and be in the lineup at Wrigglesworth after the bell had rang :)
-#9......many happy memories. It was a great place to grow up. We sometimes do a drive by when my sister Ann is in town.
-I do the same when I’m back in Georgetown. 🙂
-I do the same when I’m back in town. Haven’t been there in about 8 years. We lived next door to Colliers (#45). Grew up with Jeanette & Joanne. Last time I was back the owner of 45 saw me looking at the house & offered to show me all the changes inside. I declined b/c it was raining & my grandson needing attention. I should gave taken him up on the offer. Maybe another time 😊
-i grow up at #49
-Hi Jane, I’m trying to put the right face to your name. 😟. What was the name of your neighbours on the opposite side from Colliers? Didn’t they have a small dog & a baby around 1957-58?
-Hi Mary Carney-Gudgeon, did you have a sister married to a McKenzie, I think Dave, or do I have the wrong person??
-Hi Linda, the Graces lived next to us. You might remember my brother Steve Kitchener?
-We bought 1st house #20 in 1972, (perk) then married Wayne Densmore in 2004 and lived at #38
-lived on odd number side of street (47), best guess at who lived on same side of street, beginning at top - Raynors, Cooks, Inglis, Gougeons, Barbers, Lamberts, Sargents, Gilchrists, Davies, Stapletons, Tosts, Porters, Withams, Bradleys, Dorsey, Connelys, Quinns, Barragers, Pecks, Colliers, Kitcheners, Graces, blank, Hoare, McMenemys, Browns, apologies for spelling, omittances
-The blank I remember as the Gummers
-Before Inglis it was the Lees....then Gudgeons.....then Lloyd’s......then Barbers.....
-What year are you thinking this was John?
-late fifties, early sixties
-John collier do remember the McGonigles. Irish family. I used to babysit for them sometimes. They were near you.
-Also my cousin Inez and husband Lester lived next door to the McMenemys. I think Mid 60s
-I remember the McGonigles. Didn’t they live in the house Gummers bought?
-might be Linda. I am reaching into the grey mass archives. Lol
-sorry Doreen, that name does not ring any bells.
-I remember the McGonigles. I believe they lived next door to us, in Kitcheners’ house.
-Yes Joanne. Good memory.
-Gummers was the blank in my previous post
-Quite a memory there, John.
-thanks Bob, may try the even side tomorrow
-I remember another house before the Rayner’s. Then it was torn down. Anyone else remember that?
-Rayners lived at 3 but can’t remember who was at #1
-i want to remember that it was an old couple. He may have driven taxi? The name Cadero maybe?
-Beattys lived in that house but my mother thinks Tut Harrison owned it at one time.
-Oh ok. Were there Caderos anywhere on the Blvd or am I dreaming.....lol
-I am pretty sure it was Jim Schofield —- we lived in #1 in the early 60s
-could have been in the 'new' house built on odd number side beside house that Lamberts and Georges lived in.
-Was that Joe McGibbons place?
-I know at one point the Tansleys lived there. I think it was torn down after they moved out.
-My parents Gord and Jean Lane were the first owners of #1 and lived there with Terry and Ron. When I came along they sold #1 and moved to #10 as they needed three bedrooms.
-I somehow remember an older person living there by the name of Eaton who drove taxi
-yes I think you are right.
-just asked my wife Joyce Schofield and she doesn’t remember her uncle Jim living at #1 but it would have been a lot earlier because he built his house around the corner on Pauline St in the 50s.
Joyce also said that there was a #4 Normandy that belonged to the Stevens and was moved to Pauline St onto a lot that she may have bought from Jim Schofield.
-yes Glen his name was Eaton Tansley , he drove taxi , they lived in THE GLEN at one time there were two boys Bill n Ron , Bill passed away a few years ago in Orillia n I lost all contact with Ron any years ago ...
-Ron was best man at our wedding. Not sure where he is now. He grew up in Brampton for a number of years where he and my husband were best buds.
-just talking to Jeanann Schofield and she says her Uncle Jim lived farther down Guelph St in a house near the old fruitmarket before he built the house on Pauline St in the 50s
-47 Normandy was listed for sale a few months ago...asking price $485,000
-Wow!
-Didn’t sell, heard he was fixed on the price but #13 where the house was torn down was sold as an empty lot for well over $400,000
-So many kids from town grew up there
-Wasn't it Timbers before the Gummers moved in?
-Yes. Thank you, Lisa. Marsh and ?
-Stella maybe?
-I think you are right.
-Might have been Zella.
-Funny I was thinking the same thing.
-Lots of fun.
-Sure brings back memories.
-were your Mom & Dad the original owners of 47? I thought they were. I remember my Dad telling me the houses were built for men (& their families) coming home from the war.
-Yes they were.
-I remember Grace’s.....that’s who lived there when we moved in in 63 or 64
-we didn’t move there until after Bruce was born. We move Red there sometime in ‘55 I believe. I just don’t know what month. Maybe Jane Hayes knows what month they moved out, b/c we moved in 😊
-I think my friend Charlene Lee lived on Normandy. I lived on Prince Charles Drive and Edward Street
-Yes Charleen Lee lived next to us before the Inglis family. Ann stayed in touch with Charleen over the years.
-Would like to know where Toni Lee is if anyone knows
-Toni Lee has passed
-Thx Mary so sorry to hear that I wondered where she went
-Toni was a beautiful lady. Ginny Lee passed with Cancer when she was 19.
-Lesley Buresh what number on Prince Charles dr were you at we lived at 114 Prince Charles Dr
-We rented at 26 and later at 22 before my parents bought a house at 67 Edward. Would haven from about 1958 to early 60's.

-That was our house, Nelson, before we moved to Shelley Street. Joe and Peg McMenemy came after us.
-Oh my. Thats awesome.. loved that little house. I drove by it today..
-Did you move out of there when dave came along. Thats why we moved. It was too small for a 2nd child. We then bought a semi on sargent
-So many names here I remember as a kid, just can’t remember exactly where everyone lived.
Nancy Timleck, did you live down by the bend?
-yes on the other side of the street to you toward the highway
-That’s what I thought, however the memory is a bit vague after 50+ years 😊

-funny I didn’t know you did and even funnier we were neighbours in Hillsburgh. Small world.
-Is this in Georgetown or the Glen ? Just wondering as I remember my dad talking about it.
-Georgetown. First house on right belonged to Fred and Josie Tost.

-yes my grandparents did live on Normandy

-What years were you there? We rented # 43 from Dave Barrager from '70 until '72. (I think that's right, this old mind of mine isn't always accurate. LOL) I remember your name. Connie & Roger Darling were next door, on the driveway side.
-My family lived at 6 it was moved to John Street after the garage was torn down to make room for the plaza there. My grandparents (Bob & Ette Hardman) lived at 8. They were original's on the street and the only owners until they passed away in 1984 & 1989.
-I remember when your house was moved to John St. Can't remember what year it was but I was a little kid and thought it was pretty exciting to know your house was in one spot one day and another spot another day. I lived at 32 at the time
-I still find it weird when I drive by it. hasn't changed a bit. Still looks exactly like it did on the Blvd.
-What year did they move in? Your Dad stayed there until he passed away, correct?
-I would guess they moved in during 1946 or 1947. We had to move Dad into the Bennett Centre a couple of years before he passed away in 2006 & the house was sold at that time.
-The best place to grow up!
-Grew up on that street. Fond memories.

-It’s still a party street
-Does anyone remember Georgetown dairy used to keep their horses in that swath of land in the 50s before the Baptist church was built we used to like to give them carrots apples
-My husband's aunt and uncle lived on Normandy for many years - Jean (Whaley) and Gord Lane. Kids are: Lynda, Terry, Ron and Sharon. They lived near Guelph Street on the right when you turn from Guelph St.

-I am thinking more light 19 Audrey, I know it was a shared driveway
-This would have been around 1978 ish

Lol

-I think you are right.
-Might have been Zella.
-Funny I was thinking the same thing.
-Lots of fun.

-Oh my. Thats awesome.. loved that little house. I drove by it today..
-Did you move out of there when dave came along. Thats why we moved. It was too small for a 2nd child. We then bought a semi on sargent

-funny I didn’t know you did and even funnier we were neighbours in Hillsburgh. Small world.
-Is this in Georgetown or the Glen ? Just wondering as I remember my dad talking about it.
-Georgetown. First house on right belonged to Fred and Josie Tost.
-I see Joe and Peg lived here..... that explains why my dad talked about this ..... thanks

-yes they lived next door to us at 24
-yes my grandparents did live on Normandy

-We live at 43 normandy
