-Boy we played around there a lot.
-Use to ride my pony all in that area and downtown Georgetown when i was 11yrs old
-Almost punched my ticket in the dams overflow chute summer of 1985?-'86? (caught in the under-toe current inside the dam's structure)
-They really need to do something with that beautiful space that everyone can enjoy
-I miss the crazy boat race.
-When and why did it cease to be?
-like so many things, people got hurt. Boo hooo. so a few people died... hehehe
-Would be a beautiful pic to keep as memories
-The water thundered as much as Niagara Falls before they channelized the Glen. When the spring melt started a lot of water pushed against the old bridge. I got pictures that made a Herald cover one night, when the bridge was closed because of the water pressure.
-I still find is so sad that this place of great history has been let go to slowly decay. There was a great plan to revitalize it and bring a lot of business revenue into the town. Just sad because soon all we will have are memories.
-yes there was but politics intervened
-Yes and now we watch it slowly go away. I hate politics.
-Every piece of it 😞
-Municipal elections 2018, same council
-The Barber Paper Mill Georgetown's claim to fame. Its current state also says a lot about council, past and present.
-Love it
-There are many more forces than the councils. Credit Valley Conservation is yet another layer of making rules along the river too. Halton Region another and money, money, money.
-more in it's glory. What a shame to see it in its present condition.:(
