-When I was very young (probably about 57yrs ago) we would drive to my Grandparents farm in the Glen. There was always a 3 legged dog in front of Preston's that would chase the car and left me scared to death. I still think of that dog any time I go into the Glen.
-That was our dog. Timmy. Lost his leg when hit by a car. Still chased them though
-Did a lot of shopping there when we lived on Confederation Street back in the early 70s. Great store -- Great people!!
-That had to of been Moody's dog lol
-Used to go there all the time....so neat
-GORDY!!!, nanny used to take us there when we were kids. I was fascinated with the meat locker!!
-Preston’s always donated to so functions being held in the Glen. Gord and all the Preston’s were definitely very dedicated to supporting the Glen...
-sponsored our baseball team. i believe we were squirt division then.
-Many years going there...beast meat around at one point
-i remember George putting his cigarette on top of the gas pump and filling up a gas can for the lawn mower!!
-Wow. Is that still there ?!
-Aww Prestons. Will always be a place we call home 🙂 they have the best scratch bingo cards there for mom and me lol !!!
-Loved working there Preston's are amazing family
-Our family like many others ran a weekly bill at Preston's and on Thursday mom did the weekly shopping there and also would clear off the weekly bill :)
-Still there?!?
-I remember used to be gas station as well, it used to be a Shell gas station at one time, plus a general store.
-Been here 42 years and couldn't do without it. The present owners are the greatest people you could ask for.
-One of my best memories of living in the Glen was walking to Prestons as a child☺Chunkies for 5 cents seemed huge
-My dad live behind the store in a small house. Great memories of Candy and ice cream
-Loved it when we were finally old enough to ride our bikes from the top of the 9th line hill to Prestons with a few cents to spend but going back home wasnt so much fun all that way uphill !!
-I am so glad that owners over the years have kept the Prestons name. Such a fine tribute to a man who was so integral to the community ❤
-HELL YES LIVED AROUND THE CORNER
-it was there when i grow up in the glen
-Thanks for Sharing this —love the thought provoking memories!
-Wonderful memories❤️
-That’s the store I remember from the 50s and 60s growing up just the other side of the bridge. I’d be interested if anyone had any photos of the flood when the ice jammed up on the Credit River ? Flooded Davidson farm and all the Glen Ball Park area. Want to say sometime late 50s early 60s
-Well that picture does bring back a lot of memories.
