-I loved Silver's.
-It was a great store. Womens clothes on one side, men's on the other and children's downstairs
-I loved Silvers
-I remember buying a lovely coat there in the early 60's.
-My bought my shoes from there when I was a kid. They had shoes down stairs. A guy named Ross was the salesman.
-my mother worked there for a while
-I worked downstairs in the Children's Department with Mrs. Addy. The Silvers were a wonderful family.
-Is that not Aunt Sadie Davidson
- I was also going to ask that Judy. Looks like the way she would stand.

-I thought it was her. She was such a classy lady
-our back to school store!
-Also loved Silvers. I won a $50.00 draw there once. On the way home in front of the High School my Son in his Stroller and I were hit by a car.
-That would have been Rodney. Hopefully neither of you were badly injured!

-The display windows were HUGE!
-Spent a lot of money there
-I worked at Silvers from September to mid-January throughout High School
-I did too in the kids dept 🙂 loved the baby section folding all the clothes lol

-yes he did, I remember hi. Fitting me for shoes, I bet he was only 14. I was so embarrassed lol

-Every thing I wore came from Silvers, right down to the Buster Brown shoes!
- It was a great store. I can still picture it so clearly in my mind. It's a shame we don't have stores like that anymore.

-I worked there all through High School, started at age 14 at 80 cents an hour, great place to work and shop.
-I worked for syd silver for years in the men's dept . with Jack Watson & Bill Marshall. Syd would take me to caddy when him and Don Barrager would go golfing.I got paid $22 dollars a week and was a happy camper..
-My grandmother loved Silver's.
-My favourite store for shoes clothes , used to charge them to my Moms account lol Syd would phone my Mom and tell her lol

-I remember Silver's shoes and they always remembered me because the small size was always in the window. lol
-When I was 14 and got my first job, I bought my first pair of jeans at Silver’s.

-Loved shopping here with my dad for my mother's Christmas present. School shoes every August. When my mom came shopping with her friend Doris, who was in a wheelchair, Mr Watson would come out and get the wheelchair up into the store.

They even kept Customer Cards with sizes etc. Every Christmas I would go with my Dad, he would tell the lady my Mom's name and she would pull out the card and pick all Mom's new clothes and gift wrap them for Christmas. Dad just sat in a chair and nodded his head. Try to top that now a days! lol
-I worked there from 1978 to 1980. The staff at the time from what I remember were Edna Turnbull, Jack Watson, Madeline Gasner, Bridie Kent, Judy Pethrie did alterations, Madge ?, Sandra Petlovany, Marti Ruffolo(Girvan), a Joan and an Eileen from Acton. Bob Beerman and Randy Waters also worked there and Doreen Wood was the bookkeeper. Ross Garlick and Keith Hawtin were the owners at that time. They also had a shop in Tillsonburg and closed the one in Simcoe.
-you have a way better memory than I do LOL I loved working there, Edna took me under her wing. I use to take clothes home for Mrs. Williams next door to sell to her since he was not able to get to the store. I would love a job like that now. The good old days :)

-I remember Mom used to buy Hats there, and you got your special clothes there if you were going to some place special.

-My mom did the alterations there, and Syd and Lucile were at my first wedding. When Syd closed the store he gave all the machines to my mom, who then opened Judy's Alterations
- I remember Judy, she was so nice to me.

-When our family moved into Georgetown in 1956, you could say we had ‘just got off the boat’ immigrated from England and if it had not been for Silvers we would not have had warm coats for the winter. My mother would buy the items and pay $2.00 a week until it was paid. They did not charge interest. She was always thankful for the owners of Silvers and of course we always shopped there. Actually, I just threw out a blouse last year that I had bought in the 80s’. The assistants were lovely people and you were never felt inferior. I am now 72 and my sister(?) and we both have fond memories. All I can say is ‘thank you’.

- We used to get our shoes there
-and it was a real treat to go there
-My mom would bring home corduroys for my bro David and, if I was lucky, something nice like a sweater for me. Memories eh.
- My Mom, Marion Burns took this photo from what I understand. Mom has passed many photos like this in to the historical society. I loved the smell walking into Silver’s
