-Good old 1976!
-Worked there in early 20s, for a summer.
-My sister used the work there.
-My aunt worked there for years before she died
-where is that place and what did they do there
-Mountainview and River Drive, it is now called CPI.
-My dad worked there from 1957, the year I was born, until he retired in 1993. I could go on forever about all the great people there and all the memories but I'll spare everyone, and just say it was almost like family.
-So true
-My (late) uncle Dave Ransom worked there for a little while, before they fenced it like fort knox the varian hill was our ultimate toboggan hill at the east end of the parking lot....and it was hang on!! Lol eighties of coarse

-This building has had more than 13 additions on it! Some very small and some very big, like the last one in '07, three stories.
-Working on my 36th year. 😁
-I worked there in late 60's and early 70's. Started in Accounting, then Admin. Assistant to the GM. It was a great company to work for. We had an amazing Social Committee and always great parties. A couple of years we even had Yearbooks of all the Departments. Before there was Tim's, Sykes bakery delivered fresh doughnuts every day for morning coffee break. Worked with some of the people mentioned in the above posts.
-Marg Appleyard would have been a big part of the social committee.
-Yes she was. I worked beside Marg for many years. A great lady.
-as I did after you left. Do you still have your yearbooks?
-Varian was a wonderful place to work. We were all like a huge family. My best social event was the Monkey Golf. Everybody enjoyed that event. We had so much fun. Varian was my first place to work and is the best place to work. 😀
-I used to do your moms hair what a lovely lady.
-Yes I remember my Mom had her hair done by a lady that lived on Delrex. Her hair Salon was in her basement. I went with my Mom there often. Yes my Mom was a wonderful person. 😀
-I worked there for a GDHS co-op term.... my neighbour, George Bent, worked there forever.
-I remember George Bent.
-George was a true gentleman
-Yes he sure was a wonderful person.
-I worked there as well as a GDHS co-op for Blake Baxter, a lovely man. George Bent and his wife were the sweetest couple ever. My Dad, Ron Green worked there until he passed away in 1991.
-We lived next door to George and Ruth... one house closer to Maple.. I did my co-op in 1984 or 1985.
-Ahh I think I was there a wee bit earlier than you.. 1976-77! :) My parents were friends with George and Ruth Bent and I visited next door to your house many times. They were the kindest couple I think I have ever met.
-I remember your parents Yvonne. My dad (Bill McDonald) worked with your dad for many years. I agree with you about the Bents.
-Ruth Bent died in 1984 or 1985... George Bent went on to have a full life - tons of travel around the world - huge hikes - and the kind of retirement (except the losing his wife part) that we should all aspire to. My Mom tells me he passed away in around 2010. He was so kind to me as a teenager... He talked to me as an adult, and was a super nice man.
-My dad worked there for many years I think in the Klystron dept. I worked there in the drafting department with Gus and Alex during my last year in college working on my tech report back in the early 80s. Remembered adding GD&T to the drawings (new stuff back then) only to have the drawings revised to remove it as not too many people were familiar with it at the time.
-Varian was a fun place to work back then. A lot great memories
-Yes Varian / CPI PEO & Microwave divisions were a great place to work - major part of so many family lives in town!
-I’m sure many of you remember Bob Vanderham in the machine shop. Fantastic guy and always had a joke up his sleeve
-I worked in the machine shop with Bob for years. Great guy.
-Worked there for 17 years. Great place to work. All the people where amazing to work with.
-Yes it sure is and wonderful people to work with.
