-The tv place, Melnick's aunt Millier tv
-bought our first tv at Milliers
-Spent my first pay check as a manager at Pizza Hut there for my first RCA 20” TV 26 years ago now! I actually only got rid of it last fall. Still working just no space for it anymore. I highly doubt any TVs that I currently have will ever last that long. When I was a kid my friends parents had the place next door. I believe there was a gym in the back part of the house. I remember swimming in the pool in the basement for sure.
-I just double checked with mom, the pool was in the back half with the gym not in the basement.
-I sort have remember the pool being in the lower level as well. Was it called the Alpine Club?
-I’ll be honest, I can’t remember Al, I think they moved when I was 10 so 35 years ago now.
- ....pretty sure that you are right on the Alpine Club
-Way back in the day wasn't called "Exclusively Yours" my friend's parents owned it. It was a gym/spa with a pool and a sauna. The Ledleys (sp) owned it.
- yes! I’m pretty sure that was the name. Ledleys(sp) was exactly who I had meant.
-Yes The Alpine Club and then a few years later Exclusively Yours.
-When I was growing up in the 1950's and '60's, the building with the pillars at the end of the street was the Odd Fellows Lodge, I believe. My father was a member but I don't remember him being very active in it. I think that I went there for 1 or 2 Christmas parties at young age.
-was there a white house at one time behind those red buildings ??
-Gym/spa for women. Exclusively Yours. Owned by the Ledleys...(sp)
-I was living in that house with my parents when I got married in 1954
-Remember Milliere TV there.I coached their son Mark in house league hockey, who ended up working at TSN sports network.Last I saw Mrs. Milliere he was living in the Beach in TO.Also at the end of the street is the house the Lindaur's lived in for years.Sorry if I spelled the last name wrong,Doris.
-Billl passed away & Georgette lives on the street behind me in Moore Park.
