-I worked at Zeller's as a cashier when I was in High School, 1987? Then I moved over to the Pharmacy with Dr. Anderson. Back before you had to go to school to asst with counting pills and handing out prescriptions, lol. He was such a nice guy.
-We come a long ways from the old Buy Way , Towers , K-Mart and Zeller’s to one big Corporate giant taking it all.
-The stories i could tell about this building. Zellers gang of the 80s know what I'm talking about.
-Zellers had worst restaurant. Nothing at all like the counters at Woolworths in Toronto stores.
-The Skillet lol!
-I seriously miss that place. Wonderful memories working there with all of you.
-I miss it too! I think we need to plan a reunion! I know there's been some talks before but we need to make it happen
-Well didn't care much for Zellers restaurant. But by god I really miss Zellers. I know it was a little more than Walmart but you could actually find what you were looking for. The staff you could actually find someone. Walmart MMMM. In this mall it's garbage can't find squat. That's all I'm saying about this store!
-That's not how I remember zellers, anything advertised on sale was usually sold out. And if you went in before the sale started they didn't have the stuff before the sale started.
-I do remember not having stock but that's when Woolco moved in,
-thats accurate! Lol. I worked there from 2000-2002
-Zellers Restaraunt had a decent breakfast. Of course I was used to eating in truck stops lol.
-i miss the Zellers
-I was hired before the store opened, 1970??, my depts were candy, smokes and photo - girls were paid $1.10/hour, boys $1.20/hour - I protested the difference when I found out and was never given another shift!
-I started working when it was Zellers. First job I was hired before the store opened. Worked in the fabric Dept and front cash. That was a long time ago. If you worked in the 70's Laurie it had to have been Zellers not Walmart.
-My 1st job too, started in the stationary dept stocking greeting cards....boring!!! Moved to candy, at least more interesting weighing and filling chocolate and candy orders. I remember lying to say I was 16, when really I was only 15.
-Of course Zellers, I was 15 when hired in the stock room, 16 by the time they opened and Georgetown was ecstatic to get a real dept. store. I was married with kids when Woolco/Walmart opened and definitely earning more than $1.10/hour by then.😁
-I worked for Woolco/Walmart for 21 years and it was great However we had no say over the move Zellers was a good store - after the move everything changed and that's sad:(
-Zellers opened on Oct 13' 1971. I worked the credit office where we had $50.00 coupon books rather then credit cards. A fun group of ladies and gentleman worked in that store.
